Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Tradelink mobile application or website ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tradelink.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding contract under Nigerian law to use Tradelink. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements. We reserve the right to suspend accounts found to belong to minors.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • You must notify us immediately at support@tradelink.online if you suspect unauthorised access
  • One person may not maintain more than one personal account without prior written consent from Tradelink

4. The Escrow Service

Tradelink operates an escrow-based marketplace. When a buyer places an order:
  • Payment is debited from the buyer's Tradelink wallet and held in escrow
  • Funds are NOT transferred to the seller at the time of order placement
  • Funds are released to the seller only when the buyer confirms receipt of the order
  • If the buyer does not confirm or raise a dispute within the confirmation window, funds may be auto-released after the specified period
  • Tradelink is not a bank and does not pay interest on escrow holdings

5. Buyer Responsibilities

As a buyer on Tradelink, you agree to:
  • Only purchase items you genuinely intend to buy and pay for
  • Confirm receipt honestly — only confirm when you have received and inspected your order
  • Raise disputes promptly and in good faith if an issue arises
  • Not attempt to abuse the dispute system to obtain goods without payment
  • Provide accurate delivery information

6. Seller Responsibilities

As a seller on Tradelink, you agree to:
  • Only list items you legally own and have the right to sell
  • Provide accurate descriptions, photos, and pricing for all listings
  • Fulfil orders within the timeframe indicated or communicate delays promptly
  • Not list prohibited items (see Section 8)
  • Not manipulate reviews, ratings, or dispute outcomes
  • Comply with all applicable Nigerian laws, including tax obligations on income earned

7. Wallet and Payments

  • Wallet top-ups are processed via Paystack and are non-refundable except in cases of service error
  • Withdrawals are subject to a processing period of up to 2 business days
  • Tradelink reserves the right to hold funds pending identity verification or fraud investigation
  • Tradelink charges a platform fee on completed transactions. The current fee is displayed in the app at the time of purchase
  • In the event of a chargeback or reversal by your bank, Tradelink may recover the equivalent amount from your wallet balance

8. Prohibited Items and Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited on Tradelink:
  • Illegal goods or services of any kind
  • Counterfeit, stolen, or fraudulently obtained items
  • Weapons, ammunition, or explosive materials
  • Narcotics, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
  • Pornographic or sexually explicit content
  • Items that infringe intellectual property rights
  • Pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, or multi-level marketing products
  • Any conduct intended to defraud buyers, sellers, or Tradelink
Violation of these prohibitions will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement.

9. Dispute Resolution

If a transaction dispute arises:
  • Either party may raise a dispute through the in-app dispute centre
  • Both parties will be given a fair opportunity to submit evidence
  • Tradelink's dispute team will review all evidence and make a binding decision within 48 hours (complex cases may take longer)
  • Decisions may result in a full refund to the buyer, full release to the seller, or a partial split
  • Tradelink's dispute decisions are final on the platform, though you retain any legal rights you have under Nigerian law

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Tradelink platform — including the app, website, logo, design, and underlying code — is the intellectual property of Tradelink and is protected under applicable Nigerian and international law. You may not reproduce, copy, resell, or exploit any part of the Service without express written permission. By uploading content (product photos, descriptions, business logos) to Tradelink, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content within the Service for the purpose of facilitating transactions.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Tradelink shall not be liable for:
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or data arising from use of the Service
  • The conduct, products, or services of any third-party seller
  • Service interruptions caused by third-party infrastructure (payment processors, cloud providers)
  • Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the value of the transaction in dispute.

12. Account Termination

Tradelink reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account without notice if you:
  • Violate these Terms or our Prohibited Items policy
  • Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful behaviour
  • Provide false information during registration or verification
  • Attempt to circumvent our security or escrow systems
You may close your account at any time by contacting support. Any pending transactions must be resolved before account closure.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via the app at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
